Website Troubles

Well, at the risk of sounding cynical, nothing surprises me anymore. My website has been attacked repeatedly by hackers, so right now everything is at a standstill. I can only guess these folks felt offended by the gospel message which is its central focus. These folks amaze me. All that technical savvy, channeled to internet thuggery. You would think they would put their talents to better use. And if you disagree with something, why be so insecure about it as to resort to criminal activity to keep a website down? These people turn their head at child porn and other abominable websites, yet a message which can save their souls, they attack with venomous hatred. They probably don't even realize why they over-reacted, as these are being influenced principalities. So far the hosting company has not responded to me. This website is not even two months old yet.

Update, Etc.

Things have been really hectic lately, and I have had no opportunity to blog in the last couple of weeks, as I had a family member in the hospital who went through a very complicated surgery. I give the Lord praise for pulling her through. Doctors were astounded at her condition, one saying he has not seen anything like it in 30 years of his practice.

Hospitals are the worse place for a patient to get rest. Hospital personnel come in hourly all day and night long to collect data or to administer medicine. To further victimize the patient, certain members of my family cannot get enough news about the elections, so Clinton, Obama, and McCain were ever present above her hospital bed; chewing the same cud over and over again. Thankfully, there were enough barf bags to go around.

Compromise

I have noticed lately, that more and more Christians are beginning to compromise and adapt to the standards of the world. We are so afraid of seeming "not cool" or being prudish. Some women dress or act provocatively...and this should be reserved for their husbands in the privacy of their homes; not for their Myspace pages. Men also put them on their Myspace pages so they too look good themselves. (Man, he's got it going on!) These either compromise or they are just clueless about holiness because it is more than preaching it, it's living it. According to His standard, not your revised standard.

Some Christian music is churned out with no mention of Jesus in it, not even God in any form to cross over. My question is to cross over to what? Your witness is so water-downed the unbeliever listens and remains clueless. Of course, instrumentals are excluded.

We tell women to not expose too much cleavage, yet we accept this in beauty contests, fashion, and on the beaches. Compromise is what it is. You cannot walk both sides of the road. And do consider your actions may pose as a stumbling block to some man who already struggles with his flesh in that area. And some will come to struggle with their flesh in that area.

We have come to the point where a few curse words, or a partially nude scene in a movie is acceptable, and we make excuses for it. Compromise. We say "It was historically accurate so it is acceptable". We say "most movies have more cursing and are more sexually explicit than this movie." Compromising with the world is what it is! It is behaving more like the world and less resembling what God says we are to be like in His Word. Could He had been wrong? Does He need to change with the times? Did He not say "I am the Lord, I change not"?

He is Holy. Awesome. He existed long before movies, music, and fashion on this earth ever existed. To me, none of these things are worth so much that I would rather not please Him in these areas. This does not mean one cannot find a decent movie, or have to dress in some "granny sack" dress with a bun hairdo. It really comes down to whether we will make a choice to compromise or live by the standards God has set forth in His Word.

P.S. I am adding this note. I just found a very interesting debate as to whether Christians should use Myspace. Good points on both sides, however I am more inclined towards the starter of the thread, "hisway". Click Here to view this thread!

Something Beautiful

Recently, I was so very blessed by my eldest sister with a gift. Not an ordinary gift by any means. It seems she came up with an idea to witness to people, by going to stranger's homes with a gift bag, loaded with various toiletries including lotion, Puffs, and several other very useful items. Inside each bag is an handwritten track to witness to each recipient, and tell them about Jesus Christ. She uses her own money for this, and she is not by any means a wealthy woman, as her and her husband live quite modestly. When she comes to door of each person, (and her major focus is on the lost elderly people) she tells them she would like to present them with a gift from someone who wishes to remain anonymous! They will receive this and not even know it was her who bought these items! Her first stop was my house. "How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" (Romans 10:15)

Fair-Weather Friends

Life can really be unpredictable. I have learned throughout my 45 years of age, that real friends will stick with you no matter what's going on in your life and be there for you when you are down in a pit. Find yourself diagnosed with a terrible disease, and you may find "friends" calling you less or not at all, visiting less, etc. ..Find yourself in debt, no money to eat at a restaurant or money to take a trip; and your "friends" may get scare really fast. Win the lottery, you may just get a new set of friends overnight! One thing is unchangeable...."There is a Friend which sticks closer than a brother...Jesus". I would rather be alone, than have five fake friends any day. I would rather one good friend then 200 marginal ones "acting" in a performance mode. What does the photo above have to do with this? Nothing. I love nature, and Fall is my favorite season!
